Just wanted to say hello and find out if there are any folks from Western NY here. In the house I have 10 and 50 gallon freshwater aquariums with baby koi. Outside we have a 10,000 gallon koi pond and a 1/3 acre natural pond. The natural pond is not stocked yet.
The biggest reason for joining is that we inherited a beautiful 150 gallon aquarium with an oak base and top. We want to do saltwater but really have no idea even where to get started. I have been acquiring basics like salt, lights, heater, etc. I would like your input on refugiums and reef set-ups, since that is the way we are leaning. I still cannot understand the refugium ciphon system and how you control flow? Too much, too slow, all over the floor javascript:emoticonp('surfing') ???
Anyway, I hope this forum will put us on the straight and narrow. Thank you all in advance.
