Guess I should have done this BEFORE making my first thread in another forum, but hey... grr

I'm Dovie. I'm married and mom to one feisty little 4 year old. We live about an hour north of Dallas in the country and love it. I grew up here. I guess it's true that you can't take the small town out of the girl. ha

I've raised a few fish in my day, though only goldfish. By choice. I'd die for a place for a koi pond, I swear!

I'm currently trying to get a new and tiny desktop ecosystem established. It's a bit of an undertaking considering my complete lack of knowledge beyond simple aquarium care. Luckily, my husband's done most of it before. So there are very few things we don't know between the two of us.

My tank specs:

The Tiny Tank of DOOM!
The Strangely Efficient Heater
2 neons (As yet unnamed)
2 ADFs (Salacia and Ampridite)
1/4" - 1" live Caribbean sand substrate
3 small and mislabeled plants from Petsmart. NEVER AGAIN. They will be replaced tomorrow.

Soon to be added:

Some sort of low moss (dwarf baby tears?)
2 teeny terracotta pots
1-2 taller plants in the 4-6" range
Possibly 3 more tetras if and ONLY if I can get the balance right.

I'm worried about crowding but I'll be buying slow so we'll see.

So yeah. That's me!

dwarf baby tears, you will need high light and pressured c02... your color spectrum for the light bulb needs to be 6,700 to 10,000k. I would get a big enough filter. say you have a 10 gallon get one that is rated for a 20 gallon... and best way to start in plants is a low light tank. crypts, ferns, moss, anbuis.

couch (I don't have plants, I don't have plants). just look at my screen name.
I'd be more then happy to sell you some low light plants at a good price..

also if you haven't yet check out dfwapc dallas fort worth aquatic plant club.

Oh, dear. I didn't realize they needed so much light. Ah, well. I just go with what I can, after all it IS my first planted tank. >.< Got a hydrilla today that I really like. We'll see how it goes!
