I have been told different things about them. Some people say they are easy and disease resistant and others say they are ick magnets like all tangs.I have a y tang and have had no problems so I don't know if I want to gamble on a $100 fish.

First of all your paying to much for the tang. Look around . I have one and it cost 59.00 at live aquaria.com. Mine is housed with a blue hippo tang. Naso tangs get along with other tangs except their own. Beautiful fish. Mind eats out of my hand. They eat alot so be prepared.

If you buy from a repsponsible dealer you shouldn't have a problem. If you read my profile you will see tangs are my favorite fish. Been doing this for a while and never seen a tang with ich. If however if it bothers you than don't. Also these guys get on the large side. Something else to consider.. Good luck on your decision

tangs are hardy, and they are not. Just like any fish. I have a yellow mask angel a naso a dejsardin and a chocolate tang. My naso was starved brought him home and it took roughly 3-4 days and he would eat but only flowing algae fro my rocks. It had to be atleast an inch long . I went to lfs and bought algae covered base rock after 2 weeks of that he is great he now eats bok choy red leaf romaine dolce algae anything on a clip. I also take the pulp from oranges and put it on a clip. I paid 250 for a chevron tang if it is a healty fish it is worth the money if you want the fish it is worth it for you. i dont look at prices i look at the health thickness wieght color that is what i buy a fish off of.

I love the Naso Tang, one of my favorite in the saltwater world. I had one once in my 80 gallon that loved sea grapes. He/she was so fun to watch and had quite the personality.

Please be sure to post photos when you get the Naso settled in! :)

The only problem is I have to order him.I wish I could see him first.that's why I'm nervous.Where I live there is only petco to get fish.I see fish come in one day I go back the next and they all have ick every time.not kidding every time.So if anyone wants to open a GOOD pet store there is a gold mine for you here in central Minnesota no compitition

That is a shame. Just rember this the salinity is very importnat. Find out what the salinity is before purchase you can lower without hurting your fish but you can only raise it .02 a day without harm anything else can and might harm/kill sensitive fish. A lot of stores keep a low salinity to keep ick and parasites dormont than when you bring them home to a higher salinty they all hatch and puff you are infested. I keep my tank at 1.025 -1.026. And rember to feed feed feed. It is the best way to beat a disease and also to help the fish make sure to watch your levels in your water. Over skim if necessary. I know that my tangs love bok choy chinese cabbage. Also put lettuce through your tank inbetween the rocks so if he/she grazes they will graze easier off of the rocks than the glass
