How deep is the tank and do you just have the one bulb on it? i have good results with a 5000k dual bulb on a 20 long...yeah found bulbs for $3.50 each at petsmart. My anubias(sp) java moss and penny wort all seem to be doing ok.

Some of the more light intense plants i go with the 10k myself.

While I am here does anyone use atinics for plants on deep tanks???

    t5? t8? t12? vho? power compact? led?

6700k is best suited for plants bc of the spectrum. You will be limited to what you can grow with 5000k.

5,000-10,000 k will grow plants... I like a mix of 6,700/ 10,000k or what I'm using right now - 6,700k and a color max. why I like a mix of 6,700 and 10,000 is because the plants need both the red and blue of the spectrum to photosynthesis.
