http://www.usafishbox.org/show-and-tell-f51/wild-festea-babies-t896.htm
Pictures are of my buddy in Lafayette that breeds them. Mike at Fish Freaks Cichlids had an adult male a while back. Mike is one of our sponsors.

From the looks of it atm i have 3 females and 2 males they are still young. I haven't had any breeding activity yet. I purchased they in August of 2009 and they were tiny about 1inch. So they have grown a lot. The what i think are Males are larger than the females. Any tips on the breeding would be helpful. But i believe they are still to young. Although the Alpha is starting to pick on the other Male. Should i start think of removing him at this time? Or should i just let it ride?

I would say leave it. If you take that 1 male out he will start picking on the females. It's always good to have a sub dominte male. It's all about color with cichlids so when the dominte male flares up to the sub dominte it makes the ladies go crazy ;0) If I were you I would put a flower pot on it's side, inside your tank. They will breed inside the flower pot.

Time will tell. You should be coming up on something in the next few months. Water changes is key to breeding also.

i try to get about 10gal every week which on a 55 is about 20% a little less i believe. But i have heard that if i lower the PH and warm it up a bit it tends to take them into that state of mind. IDK its just what a guy told me once.
