PostSubject: Hello   1/21/2010, 12:28 pm

Hello everyone! Nice site you have here! I live north of Austin, Tx and am just getting back into the hobby. I used to have 10-15 large tanks set up all over the house and kept everything under the sun. 4 or 5 years ago, I decided to scale back my tanks, and before I could get to it, I lost my prized large Mbu Puffer to a horribly stupid tank mistake. In the resulting aftermath, I sold everything I had, and that was that. A month or so ago I started feeling the aquarium bug biting me on the butt again... went to a local fish store "just to look around"... big mistake. So here I am back at it again! I look forward to chatting with all of you and sharing experiences.

I want to be "share" and somebody else can be "learn"... lol! Just kidding! But it would be cool to be Cher... cause I'd be $$$ and could buy a mansion and put a million fish tanks in it!!!

I set up a couple of 29 gal tanks a few days ago just to kind of get back into the groove of taking care of the fishies. They are cycling now, and to be honest, I am not really sure what to do with them... I am thinking maybe mollies in one... once I get back into the swing of it, I'll probably pick up a 200 gal or so for cichlids, and from there, who knows! It all really depends on whether I can get my wife hooked on fish again. lol

That's easy. Let her have her own tank. Pick w/e she wants. Keep us informed. Where do you go to get your fish?

Aquatek here in Austin has a good selection of fish and always has some really uncommon fish. plus, their tanks are Super clean and floaters/sick fish are taken care of within minutes. They are a little higher on fish, but who cares about a dollar or two when the fish are a lot healthier. Good call Boss Man on setting one of them up for her... now I just have to convince her :)

I do have a friend trying to convince me to take his *cough* 4" sub-adult Serrasalmus Rhombeus *cough*... maybe I'll set up a tank for him.
