| Aulonocara Jacobfreibergi Undu Reef 'Lemon Jake' max size: 7" male - 5" female temp:78-82°F pH : 7.8-8.6 temperament: Mildly Aggressive minimum tank size: When max size I would recomend nothing less then a 40G breeder. A 55G or bigger would be best. Breeding type: Mouth This is by far my favorite Peacock. The yellow and blue colors are outstanding. Aulonocaras are called Peacock Cichlids due to the fantastic coloration developed by dominant males. They are Malawi mouthbrooders, and there are many color variants that have developed within species at different points in the lake. Aulonocara jacobfreibergi Mamela males may become electric blue with yellow on the head and bright yellow fins if dominant. Peacock cichlids may be housed with other species of Lake Malawi fish with similar temperament. They should not be housed with other Peacocks unless ample room is provided, and males may not develop brilliant colors due to dominance issues. These are eye candy and at the auctions they always go for top $$$. If you get your hands on a male KEEP IT. Great fish to have in your collection! **********USAfishbox.com************* **North Texas Chapter Leader** |
